The Empire Beauty family welcomes you to our new web site! We opened our business in 1945 in San Diego, California. Irv and Geri Goldman started the business as a wholesale cosmetics store calling on what few salons existed then. With hard work and passion for the beauty industry, they continued to grow the business until the mid 1970’s when it was passed on to their son Ric. He and his wife Nancy guided Empire into the next generation, converting the stores to retail entities and introducing salon facilities to each location. They expanded this business model to 7 locations.
Exposed to the business throughout their lives, their sons Bryce, Ryan and Joel became actively involved in the early 1990’s. Since then, our family has expanded the business to 18 locations. We have done this while maintaining the same passion and dedication to the beauty industry which existed 65 years ago. We have immense pride in the fact that we remain family owned and operated in an industry where large corporations attempt to dominate.

We believe that the pride in our homegrown family-run business resonates throughout our stores and staff (some of whom have been with us for more than 20 years).
